The Ocean have posted footage from their extremely long awaited DVD project. This looks fantastic! Check it out below:

The Ocean – The Origin of God (Live at Summerbreeze Festival 2011) from Lukas Hambach on Vimeo.

The band also offered up this quote regarding the delay and release date:
“…. and yes, that DVD. We’ve been speaking about it for a while now, right? Well, be assured that it IS still coming. The project has grown tremendously over the course of the past months. We have filmed the Heliocentric record release show in March 2010, the show at the museum for musical instruments in Berlin in January 2011, the show at the London Garage on our last tour and Summer Breeze Festival in their entirety. We’ve also had our documentary filmer Alex with us most of the time, and he has pointed his one eye on everything we’ve been through, the good, the bad and the vulgar…

Alex will also be with us for the upcoming tours. We have collected so much quality material by now that we’re thinking about turning everything into a documentary movie more than a mere music DVD. By the end of the year the “collection” process will be finished and we will spend the first half of next year on finalizing everything.”

Sounds like it will be much worth the wait.

In the meantime, snag some awesome designs from the The Ocean official merch store.

Prog metal masters and all around gentlemen Between The Buried And Me completed an extremely successful tour with Job For A Cowboy and The Ocean. Bands typically pull pranks on each other at the end of the journey and this tour was no exception. Check out this awesome video of other members of the trek do a good ole’ fashioned hillbilly hoedown during one of the last songs of BTBAM’s set. Yeehaw!!!

Made me bust out all the Waylon Jennings records I don’t own and start line dancing in my room! In other BTBAM news, the band will be embarking on a European trek with Animals As Leaders. The tour starts in September and should be righteous. Yet another tour I want to sneak into the drum case and watch these bands shred every night. Dates are below:

Rumor also has it that the two aforementioned bands will be doing a US fall run with TesseracT opening the show. Merely rumors but if true, that will be a righteous tour. We will keep you posted as soon as we find out.

Celebrated progressive rock / cutting-edge metal band Between The Buried And Me has inked a worldwide recording deal with Metal Blade Records. The award-winning North Carolina quintet will kick off the partnership with the April release of its new album “The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues.”

“We are delighted in the opportunity to join the Metal Blade family,” commented BTBAM guitarist Paul Waggoner. “Their commitment to heavy music over the years is inspiring and we look forward to becoming a part of the ever-growing legacy of the label. Our new release, titled “The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues” will hit the streets in April. We are confident that our dedicated fans will appreciate it and hopeful that we will gain the attention of some new ears as well. In closing, I’d like to reference a quote from the illustrious Joe Dirt: “Life’s a garden, dig it.”

Further details on The Parallax: Hypersleep Dialogues will be made available soon. The LP will contain the first new music from Between The Buried And Me since the release of 2009’s The Great Misdirect, which landed at #36 on the Billboard Top 200 in its first week of release. BTBAM supported the album with a full scale North American headlining tourand live dates across Europe, Australia and Japan as well as a U.S. tour as hand-picked support for like-minded rockers Mastodon.

A small teaser has surfaced featuring a small lap creature belting out snippets of a new jam. Stoked!

Congrats to the band and the label!
