Our friends at theprp.com dropped this info about everyones favorite Athens, Ohio metalheads:”Skeletonwitch entered a Los Angeles, CA area studio today to begin tracking their as-yet untitled new album with producer Matt Hyde (Slayer, Machine Head) at the helm. The effort will mark the debut of ex-Demiricous drummer Dustin Boltjes, who has now officially been welcomed into the band.

Speaking on the outing and Boltjes, band guitarist Scott Hedrick had the following to offer:

‘Waiting fucking sucks! So, after months of writing, it’s great to finally be in the studio tracking the new album. It’s not rocket science…it’s epic, it’s brutal, it’s fucking Skeletonwitch! We can’t wait for everyone to hear it. We’d also like to officially welcome aboard our newest member Dustin Boltjes. He’s a great fucking dude and an animal behind the kit. We couldn’t have found a better fit. Welcome aboard, brother!’

In addition to the following spate of overseas touring this summer, the band will be hitting the road this fall alongside DevilDriver, Chthonic and one more band TBA. Further details on that trek are expected next week.”

Revocation have begun recording their as-yet untitled new album at Damage Studios in Southbridge, Massachusetts. The band is tracking the outing with engineer Pete Rutcho and are aiming for a summer release date through Relapse. Band vocalist/guitarist David Davidson had the following to say on the sessions:

“We are currently wrapping up the recording process for our 3rd studio album and we firmly believe that this is our strongest material to date. The songs on the new release are incredibly varied and all have the own character. They range from technical thrash to groove laden death metal, there’s even a song with a full horn section this time around. We can’t wait for people to check it out!”

In the meantime, the groups cover of Death‘s “Pull The Plug” will be released as the special flexi disc featured in the March issue of Decibel Magazine. An audio stream of said cover can be found below:
