Kylesa is back with their eagerly anticipated fifth studio album “Spiral Shadow.”
“The stellar return of the world’s heaviest indie rock band! Already touted as the album of the year by metal and indie rock press alike, “Spiral Shadow” delivers a mosaic of amazing audio atmospheres. While remaining melodic and musical, huge, heavy, hypnotic waves wash over the listener. Shadows of the best elements of their influences, such as Fugazi, The Pixies, Sonic Youth, and Neurosis all materialize. The body of the music however is undisputable and wholly KYLESA. “Spiral Shadow” may be hard to categorize but nearly impossible not to enjoy!”
Pre-orders have begun for this triumph of an album. The package includes the “Spiral Shadow” CD and DVD with T-shirt. The limited edition CD digi pack comes with a 3D cover! All pre-orders ship on or before October 26th.

*One other band from this list will be joining the IndieMerch family before the holiday season. Any guesses?

How many dual drummer sludge metal bands from Savannah, Georgia are you aware of? I can only think of one. Kylesa. These southern gentlemen (and lady) are incredible. The new song “Tired Climb” is no exception. Swirling guitars set against a backdrop of psychedelic ambience with enough bottom end to blow out your older brothers subwoofers is an ample way of describing the new track. The latest album “Spiral Shadow” will be out on October 26th via Season of Mist.

Kylesa recently posted a studio update on their myspace blog:
“Studio Blog 2010
Week one at the Jam Room Studios of Columbia SC.
After a week of intense tracking we have basic rhythm tracking completed. Luckily, the casualties have been few and the sessions are going great. We couldn’t be happier with the progress thus far. We have been eating, sleeping, and living this music for a while now and the process of recording them really brings it all to a new level for the band. The songs are really starting to take shape, each becoming there own entity. Everyone at the Jam Room has been working extremely hard and accommodating the band at every level to make this record possible.
Cheers,
Kylesa”
Keep checking back for more updates regarding their anticipated new album. In the meantime, be sure to take a peek at their official merch store, where you can find sweet threads such as this one:
