Jessie Danza will be here on Wednesday for vocals. Credits to Nicholas Scott at NS Studio! Details to come.. We’re not playing around on this album. ; )”

Sam Lloyd from the infamous a cappella group The Blanks recently appeared on the season finale of the hit sitcom “Cougar Town.” While I have never seen the show I can only assume it is about a small city overrun by large cats. Here is a clip of his character singing to Courtney Cox:

Pretty sweet, eh? Here is what Sam had to say about the role:

“I thought I had played “Ted” for the last time when he left Sacred Heart Hospital to be with the love of his life. But the producers of ABC’s Cougar Town had other ideas. Ted lives, and apparently in Hawaii. His heart was broken, and he uses music (in a bizarre way… ) to cope with the loss of his love. He encounters the Cougar Town family there, and is strangely “instrumental” in helping the family resolve their dilemma. It was great fun to play Ted again — and I didn’t even have to wear ill-fitting suits! The musical angle of the episode was appropriate since The Blanks have been touring so much lately. My voice was suitably “warmed up!” Hope you enjoy the episode!”

Our good friend and fellow metal head Josh Barnett is having a benefit show for Japan on May 26th at the House of Blues in LA. All net proceeds are going to Red Cross Japan Relief towards the continued aid in the wake of the devastating earthquake/tsunami that has affected millions of lives.

Black Dahlia Murder have unleashed the second song from their highly anticipated album “Ritual.” Titled “Conspiring with the Damned,” the song is an uptempo shredder that is sure to please all fans of the band.

Here is what Trevor Strnad has to say about it:
“It brings us great pleasure to reveal another track from our latest endeavor, Ritual! Conspiring with the Damned is a quick melodic track about bringing a curse into your life by messing with an Ouija board. The lyrics were informed by a series of stories told to me by a friend who claims to have been tormented and robbed of his innocence at a very young age by a demonic force he had been in contact with. This is one of my favorite tracks from the album, and I think it embodies the horrific vibe of Ritual perfectly. Bang your heads!”
