The day many thought would never come is finally upon us. Your lords and masters the one and only GWAR will be performing live…(well, taped they may have to censor some stuff out before the masses can view what the band has in store for them) tonight on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. GWAR has made numerous TV appearances throughout their twenty five plus year history, but this is the first time the band will be appearing on national late night television. First FOX news, now NBC, what next…?
When asked what he thought about performing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, bellicose bass player Beefcake the Mighty grunted the following:
“As disappointed as we are that we must reschedule our attack on St. Louis, we are simply tickled shitless that we have been invited to perform on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon! One can only assume that our shared insatiable lust for sex and drugs and rock & roll prompted the impish Saturday Night Live alumnus to request we attend his court! Regardless of the reason, we embrace this opportunity to enlist the millions of Late Night viewers into GWAR’s legions of blood-loyal slaves! How fortunate for you all!”
Guitar player Balsac the Jaws of Death also chimed in:
“I feel like Hester Prynne on prom night! I am absolutely giddy to be performing for the crowned queen of late night, her highness, Jimmy Fallon”
Late Night With Jimmy Fallon airs at 12:35 am so adjust your TIVO accordingly unless you are a night owl. If so, then “hoo, hoo hoo hoo, hoo hoo hoo, hoo, hoo.” Thats owl code for “GWAR is going to rip your face off!”

IndieMerch’s very own Shannon S. had the distinctly grotesque pleasure to catch GWAR live! The show took place on October 14th in Cleveland. Check out his review and pics below. Great job Shannon!
“I waited with bated breath, as the lights dimmed and fog machines sputtered on, for GWAR to make an entrance. The crowd behind me, a sweaty, writhing mob, were almost all wearing clean white shirts – scattered here and there were people wearing shirts that were once white, but were stained red, green, and brown – the mark of a seasoned GWAR fan. Those select few had seen horrors that would make most men weep. The security guards were discussing rumors of what would happen during the set – “how much fog will there be?”, “I heard it gets a little messy.” ,”you better put your cellphone somewhere.”
They had no idea.
Then, two horribly disfigured…things shambled towards the front of the stage. They may have been men once, but now they were nothing more than walking dead. The crowd roared. Oderus Urungus took the stage and with one mighty swing of his wicked blade, he lopped the heads off the shambling corpses – blood spewing in gouts onto the crowd. One security guard happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and stood directly infront of one of the corpses bloody, spraying orifice – he was instantly soaked. It was hilarious. The lights kicked on and the band started into a violent tirade of noise that was more battlecry than song. One of the photographers on tour with GWAR warned me which songs would be “clean” and which songs would be “messy,” but I could not have cared less. In addition to photographing the show, I was there to see GWAR – and that meant getting messy.
Throughout the set they brought out several guests – a dead baby, several of GWAR’s enemies, Lady Gaga, a dead dog, and Sarah Palin, all of which met a grisly fate, covered in blood and other body fluids, at the hands of GWAR. All of these victims showered the audience, and myself, with massive sprays of blood as GWAR hacked away at limbs and internal organs. It ruled.”
Be sure to check out their tour dates HERE to catch the mayhem live.

In conjunction with some other great companies, IndieMerch and Jak Prints are sponsoring Mike Vallely’s first annual Glory Bound Festival! Press release below. This event will be filled with loud music and killer skate demos so be sure to come out!
edit: please support this event by putting these flyers on your blogs, twitter accounts, and facebook pages!

World renowned skateboarding hero MIKE VALLELY has announced plans for the first annual GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL; set to take place on Saturday, November 13 at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles. Hot on the heels of MIKE V‘s hugely successful “Glory Bound Skatepark Tour”, which hit 24 U.S. cities this summer, the GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL ramps everything up ten notches, promising “a sensational day of live and loud music and hard and fast skateboarding.” Skateboarding and music share a deep and meaningful history and on November 13, these two worlds are set to collide head on.
Named for and curated by MIKE V — the iconic ambassador of skateboarding – the mega event will feature an outdoor professional skateboarding All Star jam, dubbed “The Legends Jam,” which will spotlight some of the most esteemed and groundbreaking professional skaters of all time. The show will take place on a custom made 40 foot wide, six foot high mini ramp. Already confirmed for the GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL is one of the original “Z-Boys”, Tony Alva, a legendary member of the world famous “Bones Brigade”, Steve Caballero and celebrated skate heroes Christian Hosoi and Lance Mountain, all of whom will join MIKE V and a host of others for an unequaled show of skateboarding prowess that is sure to live in infamy. A special festival “vendor village” replete with a number of L.A.’s famous food trucks will flank the exhibition.
The skateboarding portion of the GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL“> will be immediately followed by a live concert headlined by seminal west coast punk band PENNYWISE. Joining PENNYWISE at the event will be celebrated Chicago punk band ALKALINE TRIO, Arizona-based punk rock stalwarts AUTHORITY ZERO, So Cal’s NATIONS AFIRE and the host himself – MIKE V — performing with his new band BANISHED (featuring members of Revolution Mother, Throwdown, Mean Season and The Suicide File).
“I’ve always thought that a skate and music festival could be done better than any of the events I’ve ever attended or participated in,” commented VALLELY. “Instead of the music or skating being secondary to the other, I think it’s important to give both arts their own time and respect. With the GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL, I aim to get it right once and for all. By including the world’s most legendary skaters for a one hour jam and also today’s top punk bands, this event is rooted deep in both culture and substance. The GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL isn’t about chasing the flavor of the month, but instead creating a forum for bands and skaters with real style, attitude and originality to shine.”
“Having PENNYWISE and ALKALINE TRIO play after watching Tony Alva and Steve Caballero skate, I just don’t think it gets any better than that,” he continues. “Not only is this an event that speaks to teenagers, I think it’s also a generational event where moms and dads can bring the kids out and show them how it’s really done.”
Presented by the World Famous KROQ 106.7 and RADD/MSRH in association with IndieMerchStore.com and Good Fight Entertainment and brought to you by Jakprints, By The Sword Skateboards, Live Nation, The Agency Group, & Super Heat Trading Cards, the GLORY BOUND FESTIVAL promises an A-level offering of both sports and music entertainment that will capture the imagination of the most casual observer, while delivering unrelenting high energy action that is sure to indulge the diehards. The official “Glory Bound Festival” admat can be viewed at this location and advance tickets to the event can be purchased by visiting www.ticketmaster.com.
Also available via through www.ticketmaster.com will be MIKE V’s “Glory Bound Fan Pack”, while supplies last. The premium package includes entrance for (4) people into the VIP section to view the Skate Jam, (4) seats at a table in the VIP Balcony during the concert (the skaters will be watching from there too!), a Meet & Greet with Mike V for (4) people, (4) VIP laminates, (4) Event T-Shirts and (4) Event posters.

The Death Of Summer.

“The feathered creatures and plants of the soil had already begin to terraform his vertex upon her arrival. Inanimate intimacy fills the stoic plains of the battlefield with a dahlia-esque hue; foliage prematurely turns to the impending season of autumn.”

The Passing.

The skull is delicately placed at her side, flanked by foxes sent for protection. The journey home will be perilous, for a dangerous pansophical force beyond this mortal realm follows their every movement…
