“They say the classics never go out of style but they do, they do.”

Sorry Mr. Lyxzen, but I’m going to have to disagree with you here. IndieMerch has unleashed three classic Black Dahlia Murder designs for the (limited edition) masses.
Limited to 138 pieces each (misfits anyone?), these three designs from the vault have been reprinted a final time with soft hand inks on super comfy American Apparel tees with hand numbered custom printed tags. But wait! There’s more! If you receive a classic tee with something other than a number in the tag, you win a MYSTERY PRIZE!
Simply send a picture of the tag along with your order confirmation number to contests@indiemerch.com and we will send you a mystery prize to the address your tee was shipped to! It’s that simple.
Don’t sleep on these designs either, orders are going quickly.

Waking the Cadaver recently released a brutal album titled “Beyond Cops, Beyond God.” Do yourself a favor and head over to their myspace to jam tracks and to purchase. You won’t be disappointed.
I recently did a quick interview with the dudes as well. Check it out!
Did you go into the writing/recording process for “Beyond Cops” with any preconceived ideas of how you wanted it to sound or was it a more natural process?
We went into the writing process with a general idea of what we wanted. We delivered the “Terminate” demo a year before and kinda set the pace of what new WTC was going to sound like. We wanted to keep to our ways…having very grimey slam’s and breakdowns that we’ve been known for…but also step up our songwriting and execution, and show some more of our other metal influences across the board, some thrashy riffs, some grinding riffs, etc. And the result of that is….death metal album of the year.

Do you have any favorite tracks from the album?
Man they’re all our my favorites! I’m extremely proud of the way the album came out, and it’s a real pleasure for me to listen to from beginning to end. I guess if I had to say which ones standout to me it would have to be BOSS STATUS, REIGN SUPREME, BEYOND COPS, and SADISTIC TORTURES.

What are your touring plans for the rest of the year and what can fans expect at the upcoming shows?
Yes, absolutely…we’re gonna be back on tour very soon. Just hit USA and Canada earlier this summer, which was insane! Now we’re waiting on confirmed dates for a European tour this fall with NAPALM DEATH.
what is your favorite merch design you guys have made thus far?
It’s a toss up between the Tony Koehl “zombies” shirt and the new Tohisiro Egawa “chainsaw man” t-shirt. The band and I are VERY HAPPY with the way it looks in person…I mean seriously,Indie Merch is the best company hands down that we ever worked with for merchandise. The print looks EXACTLY like it does on the computer.

If you actually had to wake a cadaver, what would you use?
Weed and our music!
Be sure to check out their new album and official merch store so you can pick up these AMAZING SWEAT PANTS!
*presale ends today! get on it dudes!!!

Cleveland-based youth-culture magazine ALTERNATIVE PRESS will kick off its second annual fall tour THE AP TOUR FALL 2010, presented by AIRWALK. The tour, featuring a lineup handpicked by AP staff, will kick off Oct. 13 at the Crofoot Ballroom in Detroit, Michigan, and will run through Nov. 28 closing out at the House of Blues in AP’s hometown of Cleveland. Due to an overwhelming positive fan response this edition has been booked in larger venues and stands to break all previous attendance records.
U.K. metal sensations BRING ME THE HORIZON and Lancaster, Pennsylvania’s heavy hitters AUGUST BURNS RED will share the spotlight, rotating headlining positions. Soulful prog-emo act EMAROSA, post-hardcore up-and-comers POLAR BEAR CLUB and Long Island hardcore quartet THIS IS HELL will round out the lineup.
“We’re excited to present an entirely new side of the AP Tour,” says AP marketing director Dawn Marshman. “It’s great that we’ve found a platform to showcase heavier genres we cover consistently in the magazine that might get overlooked otherwise. This tour is going to be amazing!”
Once again, the AP Tour includes built-in incentives for both the fans and the bands. First, each ticket purchased includes a one-year subscription to AP for the purchaser or friend. AP has teamed up with Indie Merch to provide exclusive AP Tour merch. Each band will design their own T-shirt through Indie Merch to be sold throughout the tour. FREE posters of all five bands will be available in limited quantities at each stop as well, and attendees can have them signed at AP’s nightly, free meet-and-greets. Lastly, there will be an exclusive offer for pre-sale purchasers only: For an additional $9.99 along with the purchase of a pre-sale ticket, fans will receive both newsstand covers of the AP Tour Fall issue along with the subscriber-only version.
Presale is going on now until August 13th. Presale link.
Regular sale starts at 10am on August 14th.
We are beyond stoked to be a sponsor on this tour. Should be a great time, hope you guys make it out and support!

Evan Brewer of Animosity fame recently posted a killer video of his solo bass work. This dude shreds. He is currently working on a solo bass album, which should be righteous. Check out the jam below:

The Greek metal phenomenon Firewind, led by the young guitar sensation Gus G. has returned with the scathing new effort Days of Defiance, which is easily their defining moment. The much anticipated disc is set for an Oct. 26th North American release (Oct. 25th throughout Europe) and it’s a truly ambitious and dynamic opus featuring some of the most brilliant guitar playing the genre has seen in many years. Be sure to stay tuned to www.myspace.com/firewind in the coming weeks for the new album’s cover art and track listing.
Here is a preview of the new album:
The “World On Fire” single will be available for purchase on digital platforms starting on 8/17, so keep an eye out for that.
Gus G. further states: “Usually when we write an album we let the music come to us and go with the flow. Maybe that’s why our albums have variety and you can hear everything from super heavy songs, to speed metal shredding, to rock anthems and ballads. Days of Defiance wasn’t much different in the making, but this time we recorded almost all of it in our home studios, which allowed us to be more relaxed. That’s why I feel the new album features the best performances by all of us. One of our main goals though was to get a bit more of an ‘unpolished’ sound and be more raw. I think we achieved it and that gives an extra heaviness to the overall sound. We mixed the album in Helsinki, Finland at Sonic Pump Studios. Nino Laurenne (Thunderstone) and Tapio Pennanen mixed it and they did a killer job. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.”

Metal Maniacs Son Of Aurelius are on fire! After releasing their crushing debut “The Farthest Reaches,” they logged in serious hours on the road only to return home to record even more jams for a re-release. Now, armed with a righteous video for the song “Mercy for Today,” this band is poised to destroy anything in its path. Check out the sweet vid below:
